Senior Communications and Public Affairs Officer (Government Relations) (Ref:19257)

(Candidates with less experience may be considered for the post of Communications and Public Affairs Officer (Government Relations))

You will be responsible for:

  • coordinating with internal key functions and government departments to compile and prepare corporate communications materials for the LegCo joint subcommittee meetings;
  • handling day-to-day communication with key government contacts and offices of legislators on the Authority’s matters and development;
  • developing corporate key messages; handling and preparing replies for enquiry from government organisations, lawmakers and political groups, and other external stakeholders;
  • monitoring public affairs issues, in particular supporting the research and analysis of political and socio-economic development in Hong Kong, arts and culture related matters in international markets, and preparing corporate messages in response to issues if required;
  • supporting message development, stakeholder communications and media handling in the event of major issues or crisis;
  • producing a range of corporate communications materials and announcements; and
  • driving and executing ad-hoc communications projects when required.

You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree or above in Politics/Government Relations/International Relations, Journalism, Communications or related discipline;
  • have at least 3 years of relevant and solid experience in public affairs, government relations, crisis communications and issues management, corporate communications, and internal communications;
  • possess thorough understanding about political, social and economic environment and issues in Hong Kong; sound knowledge of PRC political and business environment is a plus;
  • have exposure and experiences in liaising with government bodies and offices of legislators;
  • possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, be a good team player with analytical mind, attention to details, and able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines and work under pressure;
  • be passionate about arts and culture; and
  • have excellent spoken and written English and Chinese; be proficient in Putonghua.
