Senior Communications and Public Affairs Officer (Museums) (Ref:19259)

(Candidates with less experience may be considered for the post of Communications and Public Affairs Officer (Museums))

You will be responsible for:

  • implementing integrated PR and publicity plans to promote various iconic venues, programmes and initiatives of visual arts in particular M+ and West Kowloon Cultural District as a whole in Hong Kong, Mainland China and overseas;
  • organising PR events and publicity campaigns mainly on M+; liaising with arts and cultural programme partners or other government organisations for joint PR collaborations;
  • building and maintaining relations with local, PRC and overseas media/KOLs; organising media/KOL events and familiarisation visits; handling media enquiries and interviews; media coverage analysis and reporting;
  • developing and coordinating communications plan of the opening of M+;
  • preparing communications collaterals including press releases, fact sheets, presentation materials, etc and other writing assignments if required;
  • assisting in message development and media handling, internal and external stakeholders’ liaison in crisis communications and issues handling;
  • working with external agencies, outsourced vendors and business partners on public relations and communications initiatives as necessary; and
  • driving and executing ad-hoc communications projects when required.


You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree or above in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications or related discipline;
  • have at least 3 years of relevant and solid experience in public relations, media relations, crisis communications and issues management, corporate communications, events management, and internal communications;
  • have sound knowledge of social media with established media network, particularly with local and Mainland media;
  • be able to plan, execute and manage projects independently to achieve the communications goals;
  • possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, be a good team player with creativity and dynamism, attention to details, and able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines and work under pressure;
  • have high adaptability to an environment of volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity;
  • be passionate about arts and culture; and
  • have excellent spoken and written English and Chinese; be proficient in Putonghua.
