Senior Producer, Performing Arts (Music and Outdoor) (Ref:19237)

Candidate with less experience may be considered for the post of Producer, Performing Arts (Music and Outdoor)


You will be responsible for:

  • leading the team to formulate the artistic plan for music and outdoor programmes to ensure that the vision and objectives of the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) performing arts venues are delivered;
  • planning, managing, preparing and monitoring schedules, resources and budgets for the team and individual projects to ensure that they are productively utilized in accordance with the WKCD’s policies;
  • managing and leading the Music and Outdoor Team members’ development and training;
  • planning, developing and producing a diverse programme of Music and Outdoor projects; including but not limited to:
    • managing coordination with artists/arts groups regarding Music and Outdoor activities and production;
    • working collaboratively with various teams in Performing Arts and across departments for event and production logistics;
    • leading and supervising administrative duties of liaison and contractual work with service providers, drafting of project proposal, consolidation of meeting documents and presentation materials;
    • compiling evaluation reports and funding acquittals;
  • participating in developing artistic strategies for the opening and operation of Performing Arts facilities when necessary; and
  • engaging with stakeholders in music and other art forms, as well as developing partnerships in Hong Kong and globally to implement public programming, cultural exchange and creation.


You should:

  • have a recognised university degree in Performing Arts, Arts or Cultural Studies, Arts Management, Arts Education or equivalent;
  • possess at least 10 years of working experience in arts and cultural field, of which 4-5 years should be in a managerial position;
  • have experience in leading in a senior management position;
  • possess knowledge and experience in producing Performing Arts programmes, especially Music and Outdoor programmes are preferred;
  • demonstrate good understanding of and be competent in multi-art form programme design and production and business development;
  • have strong connections to the local and international music scene – including musicians, agents, producers, venues and festivals;
  • have good interpersonal and communication skills with diverse groups of people from different cultural backgrounds;
  • have strong administrative and multi-tasking skills; and
  • have both oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
