As one of the largest arts and cultural districts in the world, the West Kowloon Cultural District is experiencing an exciting time of growth with some of its major venues opened or to be opened in the coming year, namely Xiqu Centre, Freespace, Art Park and M+, offering a wide range of events and offerings to the public and tourists of different interests. The Marketing and Customer Experience Department (MCE) has been engaging with our audiences over the past years, providing useful and relevant information about our events, exhibition and project updates to them through different platforms including e-newsletter, social, app etc. In order to serve quality, customer friendly and relevant content to our audiences, we are seeking a talented copywriter to join our team.


Reporting to the Manager, Digital Communications, you will be responsible for:

  • writing and editing templated-branded digital communications primarily in English (ability to write in Chinese will be a strong plus), including our bi-weekly email newsletter, landing pages, mobile app and digital content library; ensuring consistency, accuracy, timely delivery, customer friendliness in a manner that is within the branded visual language and communication guidelines;
  • developing highly effective, original and targeted marketing copy based on existing sources such as website, programme leaflets that helps to drive traffic, engagement, conversion, and leads acquisition;
  • drafting marketing copy according to different needs / channels or tailor for different audiences / segments;
  • communicating and liaising with internal teams to understand the events / programmes / offers and convert the messages into compelling marketing copy;
  • creating or editing content, image and links of the e-newsletter or other communications using Authority’s email marketing tool / Customer Relationship Management system; and
  • optimising the content based on data / audience behaviour / feedback to improve engagement and conversions.


You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree or equivalent;
  • have 2-3 years of solid working experience with templated e-mails or experience using online communications tools; experience with Customer Relationship Management system such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud or having a basic understanding of HTML, CSS or other web standards would be a plus;
  • have a track record of experience in delivering direct-marketing communications in a fast-paced environment, and driving direct sales through email marketing;
  • have flexibility in writing style and tone to communicate with a variety of internal and external audiences across mediums;
  • ideally be passionate about arts and cultural events; experience of working in arts and culture / entertainment / lifestyle organisations / industry will be a plus;
  • have strong overall writing, copywriting and proofreading skills;
  • be very attentive to detail and have the ability to multi-task;
  • demonstrate good project management, presentation and interpersonal skills; and
  • be proficient in written and spoken English, and preferably Chinese.
