Assistant Manager, Performing Arts (Learning and Participation) (Ref:19140)

You will be responsible for:

  • working closely with the team in implementing learning, participatory and advocacy strategies and developing an array of public, professional and advanced learning programmes for the purpose of audience building and widening participation;
  • collaborating and liaising with local and international partners, arts and cultural organisations, schools and higher education institutions;
  • partnering with different internal teams, including but not limited to artistic, technical and productions, venue operations and research, in developing learning and participation programmes across performing arts and cultural studies (including HK and Chinese culture) subject areas; and
  • ensuring resources are fully utilised to their maximum impact in accordance with the Learning and Participation team’s vision, mission and strategic priorities.


You should:

  • have a recognised university degree, preferably in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Performing Arts, Education or Cultural Studies or equivalent;
  • have at least 5 years of relevant experience in organisations related to arts, cultural institutions or higher education institutions, of which at least 2 years are in a supervisory role;
  • have experience in developing learning and participatory projects targeting a wide range of audiences including students, young adults, professionals and families;
  • be able to lead event-based projects through every stage from ideas to completion;
  • have a global mindset as well as a good understanding of Hong Kong’s arts education landscape;
  • have strong programme and budget management skills; and
  • have a good command of oral and written English and Chinese, including Putonghua.
