Working closely with Curator, Hong Kong Visual Culture, you will be responsible for:

  • contributing to the development of the museum’s curatorial strategies and programmes in relation to Hong Kong Visual Culture;
  • contributing to the development of the museum’s collections of Hong Kong Visual Culture through researching on existing collections, and proposing new acquisitions; maintaining accurate records of objects in the museum collections;
  • researching, planning and executing exhibitions and other public programmes with a focus on Hong Kong Visual Culture, and working with other curatorial teams when required;
  • organising and planning meetings in relation to curatorial planning and strategic development with other curatorial teams including design and architecture, visual art, moving image, and the learning and interpretation team;
  • collaborating with collection and exhibition teams, as well as museum operations teams when required; and
  • contributing to the overall development of the future M+ Museum, including exhibitions, publications and other public programmes.

You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree in Art History, Cultural Studies or equivalent;
  • have 6-9 years of experience in researching, planning and/or implementing exhibitions and other public programmes;
  • have strong research skills and the ability to communicate ideas to a wide range of audiences;
  • have demonstrable knowledge of 20th and 21st century Hong Kong Visual Culture, preferably within a global or regional perspective;
  • have a collaborative mindset, and ability to work in a fast-moving dynamic environment; and
  • be proficient in Cantonese, written and spoken English and Chinese, and preferably Putonghua.
