Senior Manager, Performing Arts (Learning and Participation) (Ref:19205)

You will be responsible for:

  • working closely with the Head and team members in implementing learning, participatory and advocacy strategies and in developing an array of public, professional programmes for the purpose of audience building and widening participation;
  • working closely with the Head and team members in devising and establishing learning and participation advisory bodies.
  • managing relationships with these bodies ensuring that the Learning and Participation Team leverages on these networks and recommendations from the advisories to advocate its programming and strategic priorities;
  • collaborating and liaising with business partners, arts and cultural organisations, schools and higher education institutions locally and overseas ensuring that WKCDA serves a varied range of educational needs;
  • partnering with different internal teams (including but not limited to artistic, technical and productions, venue operations and research) in developing programmes across the performing arts and cultural studies (including HK and Chinese culture) subject areas;
  • engaging in market and audience researches and overseeing plans on other programme projects, such as volunteer programmes; and
  • ensuring that resources are fully utilised to their maximum impact in accordance with the Learning and Participation Team’s vision, mission and strategic priorities.

 

You should:

  • have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Performing Arts or Cultural Studies;
  • have at least 10 years of relevant programming experience in education institutions or organisations related to arts, performing arts or cultural institutions of which at least 8 years are in a managerial position. Candidates are expected to be impact/result-oriented;
  • have substantial experience in leading a team to develop learning and participatory projects targeting a wide range of audiences including students, adults, young professionals, families and audiences with special needs;
  • play a leadership role in programme development, management and delivery;
  • be able to lead event-based projects through every stage from ideas to completion;
  • have a structured, business mind and possess strong communication and supervisory skills;
  • have a good command of oral and written English and Chinese (Cantonese or Putonghua), with strong programme and budget management skills; and
  • have a global mindset as well as a good understanding of Hong Kong’s arts education landscape.
