Assistant Manager, M+ Museum Project (Ref:19196)

Hong Kong Island (Cyberport Office)

Reporting to the Senior Manager, M+ Museum Project, the key objective for the role is to partner with Senior Manager, the M+ team and coordinate with different stakeholders including but not limited to Project Division, contractors, vendors, design team, suppliers, relevant government bodies and internal departments to manage the project from program and design to completion. This role will have to understand and translate museum/project specific requirements to project team and M+ team.


You will be responsible for:

  • assisting Senior Manager, M+ Museum Project to look after the project schedule in relation to the design, programing and infrastructure installation progress within the museum to meet with the key milestones;
  • working closely with the Senior Manager M+ Museum Project to support staff on project related queries from the project team;
  • understanding museum specific needs and requirements of the museum and communicating their key concerns and issues with the design team, Project Division, the contractors and other relevant parties;
  • working closely with Project Division to ensure mutually best approach is adopted and to resolve technical problems independently;
  • liaising with relevant government officials in obtaining appropriate operating licenses for the M+ managed venues;
  • working closely with the supervisor to coordinate with relevant parties to ensure a smooth move-in of employees, operators, collections, equipment, furniture, etc.;
  • preparing regular progress report to update senior management of M+ for the project progress; and
  • undertake any other ad hoc duties as assigned by supervisor when required.


You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Services Engineering or equivalent;
  • preferably have a post-graduate qualification in project management or other professional membership of relevant institution;
  • have at least 5 years of project management experience in large-scale commercial fitting-out and commissioning projects, preferably from client or consultant;
  • possess experience in the field of design and construction management preferably gained in roles on the consultant or contractor side;
  • have experience in government submission procedures and obtaining appropriate licences;
  • demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills with good knowledge in programming, controlling and monitoring large-scale commercial project;
  • be detail-minded, result-oriented with good collaboration skills; and
  • have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.
