Manager, Museum Membership Development (Ref:19098K)

Hong Kong Island (Cyberport Office)

Reporting to the Head, Development of M+ Museum, this role will play an integral role in developing and managing stakeholder relationships with a focus on museum membership development as well as playing a key support for potential individual major donors.


You will be responsible for:

  • structuring and managing the membership base of the museum as a sustainable revenue stream;
  • creating and implementing an engaging annual programmes for members;
  • leading on behalf of M+ in initiating new members approach to support the programmes and activities of M+ by both actively seeking and retaining members;
  • leading and implementing new membership drives; identifying, developing and initiating ideas and opportunities to grow the membership programmes after the completion of the pilot membership programme;
  • creating and implementing a professional communication plan with the members, mapping out messages;
  • leading the creation of membership proposals, membership products or any other relevant M+ materials when required, and working with the Marketing and Customer Experience Department to ensure brand alignment;
  • managing any related budget items in relation to membership and development;
  • managing membership data, ensuring adherence to the necessary data privacy regulations;
  • initiating and overseeing all events for members or general fundraising successfully, and ensuring that they are pitched appropriately, managed smoothly and on time and on budget; and
  • developing a close working relationship with the WKCDA's Development Department to ensure clear communication and alignment.

You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree in any disciplines;
  • have at least 6 years of relevant experience in membership or loyalty programme development, preferably in arts institutions, wealth management, private banking or other relevant industries;
  • possess experience in managing affluent individuals;
  • have outstanding presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills;
  • demonstrate knowledge of fundraising/sales and marketing, and be familiar with working in a fundraising or sales environment;
  • possess good analytical and problem-solving ability, be creative and have can-do attitude; and
  • have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.
