Reporting to the Head, Development of M+ Museum, this role is responsible for conceiving, planning and implementing multi-channel strategies to attract and retain loyal membership for M+ museum of visual culture. This role will set annual goals and identify opportunities and strategies to increase membership base and revenue.

  

You will be responsible for:

  • structuring and managing the museum membership base as a sustainable revenue stream;
  • developing an annual membership work plan, including budget, projected income, and reporting by tracking monthly budgets; working closely with the finance department to track and reconcile monthly revenue and expenses;
  • creating and implementing an engaging annual programme for members; conceiving, planning and implementing membership activities including direct email, newsletters, benefits, acknowledgement, online fundraising and an annual calendar of events;
  • implementing member acquisition and renewal strategies, including but not limited to membership drives, incentives, on-site and online solicitation, targeted solicitation, etc;
  • managing membership data, ensuring adherence to the necessary data privacy regulations;
  • building a multi-faceted marketing strategy, implementing on multiple channels creatively and efficiently, monitoring accurately and evaluating comprehensively;
  • working closely with the marketing department to ensure brand alignment and collateral messages;
  • creating and implementing a professional communication plan with the members, mapping out messages according to the different campaigns; ensuring the member information is accurately communicated on all channels, from website, to publications and signage;
  • working closely with exhibitions, education and Visitor Services departments to integrate membership into exhibition schedules, special events and programming; and
  • developing a close working relationship with the WKCDA's marketing, communications and development departments to ensure clear communication and alignment.

 

 You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree in any disciplines;
  • have at least 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in arts institutions or other relevant industries;
  • play an active role as part of the larger museum team to engage existing and new audiences, increase revenue for this non-profit institution;
  • have a strong understanding of CRM system and understand data in order to inform marketing and programming decisions;
  • have outstanding presentation, customer relationship and relationship-building skills;
  • demonstrate knowledge of loyalty/membership programmes and be familiar with working in a fundraising or sales and marketing environment;
  • possess good analytical and problem-solving ability, be creative and have can-do attitude; and
  • have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.
