Reporting to the Executive Director, Performing Arts (EDPA), you are responsible for:

  • Providing leadership and strategic direction on the venue operations and business development in the venues for PA Division, including Xiqu Centre, Freespace, and the business and operations planning for the upcoming Lyric Theatre Complex and Music Centre;
  • Direct oversight of performing arts venue operations, business development, financial budgeting, operating cost control, revenue generation, resource allocation etc.;
  • Assisting EDPA to oversee the development and implementation of strategic planning, enhance internal process, business planning, operations and infrastructure to support long-term sustainability of the existing and planned venues;
  • Managing the operations of PA facilities to ensure smooth front of house operations and customer servicing of all PA venues in the WKCD to world-class standards; developing sustainable business models to increase operating efficiency and revenue generating capacity; and
  • Developing strategic links with international and local institutions to support PA venues’ global standing within the operations areas of performing arts management.

 

The ideal candidate should:

  1. possess a recognised university degree in business / finance / operations or equivalent; CPA/Chartered qualifications or equivalent will be highly regarded;
  2. have at least 15 years in relevant industries and at least 5 of these at executive management level. Understanding of local arts landscape is an advantage;
  3. possess considerable experience in managing sizable and/or multi-purpose venues including but not limited to financial planning and budgeting, operating cost control, business development and revenue generation;
  4. have exceptional skills in stakeholder management and ability to communicate effectively at senior executive level including board/committee members;
  5. have strong communication skills and team leadership experience; and
  6. be fluent in English and Cantonese are preferred.
