Senior Manager, Museum Retail Sales & Business Development (Ref:19024)

Hong Kong Island (Cyberport Office)

Reporting to Head, Museum Retail and Commerce, the job incumbent aims to optimise overall sales performance, visual merchandising and visitor engagement to achieve sales targets while minimizing costs to maximize profitability. 

 You will be responsible for:

  • working closely with Head, Museum Retail and Commerce, develop and drive the museum’s retail sales strategy for all retail outlets including ecommerce platform;
  • leading a team of sales professionals and frontline sales associates to ensure a smooth operation of all retail outlets including but not limited to staff management, systems readiness and stability, house rules, etc.  which aims to drive sales and revenue and provide an exceptional museum retail experience to visitors;
  • developing and implementing the requisite structures, procedures and systems which aims driving the agreed strategies to success;
  • providing input and manage annual budget, five-year plan and sales targets for all retail shop outlets;
  • collaborating with the Head, Museum Retail and Commerce and the Senior Manager, Museum Retail Merchandising to develop engaging programmes of in-store events to maximize visitor engagement, loyalty and sustainability;
  • working with counterparts to develop sales and promotional programmes that maximises sales opportunities with exhibitions, museum activities and customer seasonality, at the same time, ensure visual merchandising, stock and warehouse as well as marketing strategies are in place to support the programmes;
  • collaborating with relevant parties to ensure manpower requirement is met to cope with sales operations and the frontline staff is equipped with right level of skills and product knowledge to create a pleasant retail experience and memory for the visitors; and
  • identifying diversified business opportunities with other relevant departments such as Development, F&B and other opportunistic possibilities and build long-term relationships with prospects.  

You should:

  • possess a recognised degree in any disciplines;
  • have at least 10 years of experience with multi-national lifestyle retailers which 5 years at managerial position;
  • demonstrate strong negotiation, influencing, collaboration and problem solving skills with good business acumen and numerical sense to drive sales targets and explore new business opportunities;
  • possess strong leadership capability and attributes which aim to deliver the best business result and effective team management particularly experience in managing a large number of frontline staff; and
  • have good communication skills, be proficient in both written and oral English and Chinese, proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.
