Assistant Manager, Learning and Interpretation (Ref:18413)

Hong Kong Island (Cyberport Office)

The position of Assistant Manager in the Learning and Interpretation team (L&I) is responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of support services within the team in the office and the learning spaces in the museum building. The main purpose of the role is to support and manage high quality output from the L&I team’s work. The incumbent will manage a small team comprised of administration officer, assistant and front-line staff and should preferably have a background in Arts Administration.


You will be responsible for:

  • providing management and administrative support for procurement, internal and external communication, record management, finance and budgeting exercise, and implementing workflow and system to facilitate the team’s efficiency;
  • coordinating the recruitment of project assistants, helpers or volunteers in enabling learning programmes to be delivered to the highest standards. This will include managing roster and maintaining excellent lines of communication;
  • managing project logistics implementation and ensuring smooth front-line and venue operation and coordination, such as overseeing storage of learning materials and equipment, and supporting delivery as appropriate; and
  • coordinating learning programmes with external parties, such as booking management and event administration to maintain the museum’s strong and positive reputation with stakeholders.


You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree, preferably in Arts Administration, Arts Education, Cultural Management, Museum Studies or equivalent;
  • have 6 to 8 years of relevant experience in supporting the management, preferably in the field of arts and cultural institution;
  • be proactive in taking up management initiatives and implementing creative approach in problem-solving;
  • be highly-organised, detail-oriented, and be able to work independently and cooperatively with others in a fast-paced environment;
  • possess excellent administrative and computer skills; and
  • have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese.
