Chief Project Manager (Construction Projects) (Ref:18399)

You will be responsible for:

  • reporting to the General Manager, Construction Projects in managing and monitoring the construction of the project;
  • overseeing all aspects of construction project management system from strategy formulation, development, project cost control, programme and procurement to delivery;
  • managing consultants and contractors across the construction phase ensuring all design quality, project cost, time and quality issues are met as required under our respective Contract Agreements;
  • managing and overseeing the construction of the project and performance of all Works Contracts, contractors and sub-contractors;
  • monitoring contractor’s progress and performance through creative compromise and cooperation minimising conflict and confrontation preventing disputes;
  • effectively managing and communicating with the Project Management Consultant in employing the Resident Site Staff team for the project; and
  • assisting in the prioritisation, monitoring and management of safety issues during construction.


You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree in Architecture, Engineering or Project Management;
  • possess a professional membership of appropriate / recognised professional institution;
  • have at least 15 years of post-qualification experience including the management of major building or engineering projects, of which 10 years should be at management level;
  • demonstrate excellent management skills and technical expertise in managing design consultants, contractors and project stakeholders for major construction projects, including specifically construction management, cost management, project programme and quality to achieve the projects goals; and
  • be proficient in written and spoken English and preferably in Chinese.
