Head, Development (Performing Arts) (Ref:18397)

Reporting to the General Manager, Development, this role will work closely with the Performing Arts Division to develop and implement fundraising strategies to support performing arts initiatives.

You will be responsible for:

  • developing and managing major gift capital campaigns for performing arts venues including campaign collateral materials development;
  • leading the development and implementation of fundraising strategies; identifying potential sponsors, collaboration opportunity and new fundraising stream in order to achieve annual targets;
  • leading a team to negotiate with key sponsorships and donations, maintaining and developing existing relationships with stakeholders, funders and donors, at the same time as seeking and cultivating new supporters;
  • planning the strategic development for Patrons programmes for various performing arts venues;
  • partnering with supervisor to develop and manage the team and ensuring the service standard to new and existing sponsors and donors is proactive and up to professional standard;
  • providing guidance, coaching and advice to the team when necessary; and
  • performing other job duties as and when required.

 

You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree in marketing, communications, business or equivalent;
  • have at least 10 years of relevant working experience, preferably in arts institutions or other large organisations;
  • have a strong network of contacts across Hong Kong and Mainland China with a proven track record of success securing large-scale gift donations and corporate sponsorship agreements;
  • demonstrate solid experience of capital and revenue fundraising and major donor skills;
  • possess thorough understanding of best practice in prospect research, cultivation and solicitation;
  • have outstanding presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills;
  • possess excellent planning and organisational skills, and good at prioritising, managing reactive work, balancing multiple requirements and adapting to unexpected situations, and strong attention to detail;
  • have ability of managing budgets, and experience of using fundraising databases would be an advantage; and
  • have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese.
