Assistant Manager, Communications and Public Affairs (Ref:18381)

Kowloon (Tsim Sha Tsui)

You will be responsible for:

  • implementing integrated PR and publicity plans to promote various iconic venues, programmes and initiatives of visual arts, performing arts and West Kowloon Cultural District as a whole in Hong Kong, Mainland China and overseas;
  • building and maintaining a constructive relationship with local, PRC and overseas media / KOL;
  • organising PR events and publicity campaigns of the District and liaise with arts and cultural programme partners or other government organisations for joint PR collaboration opportunities;
  • developing press releases, fact sheets, presentation materials and other relevant collateral materials;
  • assisting manager for message development and media handling, internal and external stakeholders liaison in crisis communications and issues handling;
  • planning and organising media / KOL events and familiarisation visits;
  • working with external agencies, outsourced vendors and business partners on public relations and communications initiatives; and
  • handling daily media activities and operations, including enquiries, interviews, photo / video shooting, press release distribution, media coverage analysis and reporting and press contact lists maintenance.


You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Communications or related disciplines;
  • have at least 5 years of relevant experience of which 2 years in a supervisory position, preferably gained in sizable organizations or the arts and culture related field;
  • have experience in media relations, KOL management, crisis communications and issue management, corporate communications, events management, and / or internal communications;
  • have sound knowledge of social media with established media network, particularly with local and Mainland China media;
  • be a good team player with good interpersonal skills, self-motivated and have strong media sense; and
  • possess excellent communication skills in both English and Chinese, fluent in Putonghua is preferred.
