Assistant Curator, Collections (Ref:18168K)

(Candidate with less experience may be considered for the post of Curatorial Assistant)
 

You will be responsible for:

  • working closely with Curator, Collections to support efficient delivery of curatorial procedures relating to acquisitions, display and collections-related information;
  • conducting object-level research across the M+ Collections including provenance, exhibition history, bibliographical references and technical information;
  • handling the application of cataloguing guidelines to object records across Visual Art, Design and Architecture, Moving Image, ensuring a consistent standard across the M+ Collections; and
  • supporting the day-to-day collections-related administrative processes at M+.

 

You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree in History or Theory in the fields of Art, Architecture, Film, Design or equivalent;
  • have 4-5 years of experience in handling collections, preferably within an interdisciplinary museum/cultural institution environment or auction house;
  • have knowledge of 20th and 21st century visual culture;
  • be preferably experienced in using collection management software with meticulous attention to details; and
  • have excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese, proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
