E-Commerce & Business Development Manager (Ref:18142I)

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Museum Retail Merchandising, the role of E-Commerce & Business Development Manager is key to ensuring the delivery of a truly unique M+ cultural retail experience both digitally and on-site.  Through the creation and operation of new digital business platforms, the on-line shopping experience, visitor engagement and digital marketing campaigns come to life to enhance overall M+ experience and maximise profits.


You will be responsible for:

  • developing and implementing M+ ecommerce strategy to maximise the revenue and ensure the highest standard of customer service and satisfaction is achieved via ecommerce;

  • deriving strategic direction, overseeing and managing all ecommerce activities for M+ by building and optimising digital content, managing site merchandising, maintaining customer conversion and coordinating with the team for buying, sales and fulfilment;

  • supporting the Senior Manager to manage ecommerce budget to ensure it is utilised within the approved scope and for the best interest of the Company;

  • ensuring the ecommerce activities are consistent with the ethos of the museum and delivering an on-brand experience;

  • working closely with internal and external counterparts to optimize the customer experience on digital platforms, ensuring CRM data is captured for business analysis, maximising external opportunities across all relevant channels;

  • collaborating with teams to develop ecommerce sales protocols and guidelines, providing ongoing support and oversight accordingly;

  • working closely with the counterpart on fulfilment;

  • developing content calendar and overseeing website uploads and landing pages development with compliance to internal guidelines;

  • cultivating and managing the business relationship with the ecommerce platform providers and ensuring continuous improvements; and

  • identifying industry best practice and recommending appropriate changes in order to maintain the competitive edge of M+ ecommerce.


You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree in any disciplines;

  • have at least 5 years of relevant working experience in a multi-stock keeping unit retail and E-Commerce industry which 2 years at junior managerial position;

  • possess solid ecommerce experience from strategic development to implementation, strong business acumen to identify new business opportunities;

  • demonstrate understanding of information and web-based system;

  • have sound knowledge and understanding of best market practices and prevailing legislation requirements on ecommerce;

  • possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with result-oriented mindset; and

  • possess good communication skills and proficient in both written and oral English and Chinese.
