Assistant Legal Advisor (Ref:18155K)

Hong Kong Island (Cyberport Office)

You will be working with the Principal Legal Advisor / Legal Advisor to provide legal support for the establishment, development and operation of the West Kowloon Cultural District on a wide range of legal matters such as statutory compliance and governance, intellectual  property, general procurements, ICT contracts, consultancy or service contracts, management and maintenance contracts, data privacy, leasing, letting and venue hire, employment, insurance, claims and dispute resolutions, and commercial related issues generally including:

  • drafting and reviewing legal documents, practice notes and guidelines;
  • undertaking legal research and providing legal advice;
  • preparing, settling and advising on papers for the Board, panels, committees of the Authority or its subsidiaries or such other bodies as directed and attending at meetings;
  • instructing, liaising and working with counsel, trustees, nominees and professionals, and monitoring their performance as appropriate; and
  • advising any legal issues as the General Counsel may direct from time to time.


You should:

  • be a solicitor duly admitted under the Legal Officers Ordinance with 5 - 7 years post qualification experience;
  • have wide exposure in general commercial practice and intellectual property contracts; experience with art and cultural events or public body’s work will be an advantage;
  • demonstrate excellent analytical and interpersonal skills;
  • be able to work independently; and
  • have excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
