Landscape Officer (Ref:18201)

Kowloon (WKCDA Project Site Office)

You will be responsible for:

  • supervising a team of technical / front-line staff and / or contractors for daily management and maintenance of landscape;
  • undertaking routine inspections and closely monitoring the progress and quality of work performed by contractors and / or technical / front-line staff, to ensure that set targets and deadlines are met;
  • supporting in drafting the tender documents, briefs and technical specifications for routine maintenance in landscape and / or event decorations;
  • assisting in organising district-wide soft landscape planting plans and generating related maintenance programs, and developing, reviewing and maintaining a database and inventory of planting;
  • assisting in inspecting and evaluating the impact for events held in the Park and Public Open Space, and identifying potential effects on soft landscape features during event, including set-up & dismantle periods, and recommending appropriate protective and remedial measures;
  • ensuring the application of the Public Open Space Bylaw, health and safety regulations and risk assessment to landscape features in the Park and Public Open Space and the public; and
  • supporting the Park education and community programmes, other communication and marketing initiatives related to landscape.


You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree in botany, horticulture, forestry, gardening, arboriculture, landscape management or equivalent;
  • preferably possess a certified arborist or related professional qualification;
  • have around 3-5 years of relevant experience in landscape management of Park and Public Open Space or similar facilities;
  • demonstrate good knowledge in occupational safety, tree maintenance and pest control;
  • be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with landscape technical / front-line staff;
  • be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese; and
  • be willing to work outdoor and occasional working over the weekend.
